Making Hand Block Print (Khadi & Ajrakh) & Hand Embroidery & Applique

The piece is a timeless ode to the magnificence of Moroccan architecture. Wear it and you would be enveloped in the oriental spirit of Morocco. A magical scarf, it is sure to steal your heart. The exquisite design details are drawn from the gorgeous decor of a riad in the city of Fez. Awash with the scent of jasmine, entering the central courtyard is like stepping into a storybook.

The walls feature intricately tiled mosaics, floors inlaid with rare marble, silk hangings, pierced brass lanterns, Berber rugs, and artfully arranged vintage benches. All the beauty of the tastefully done up interiors is mirrored on this exquisite silk scarf, featuring an eye-catching layout of khadi block printed and ajrakh panels. Khadi printing is practiced throughout Rajasthan. In the past it was mostly done on bridal sarees, ghagras, odhnis, and turbans worn by the members of the royal families, using pure gold and silver. The patterns have been hand printed with fine flakes of crushed mica. It took two months to create and sew together the exquisitely crafted panels. Pair it with your favorite types of denim to add a refreshing edge to your look.
