Making Handwoven Wool, Hand Tied & Dyed (Bandhani & Shibori)
Description
The village of Bhujodi is a quaint little village in the great Rann of Kutch. It stands as a glorious testimony to a rich past. The exquisite weaves that the artisans create, and their warm smiles remain imprinted on the mind for a very long time.
The charm of the place lies in the fact that wherever you look there is art to be found. Once woven, the wraps are sent to the khatri dyers for bandhani work. The women add traditional embroidery in a contemporary palette to these wool pieces. Indigo leaves are used to obtain various shades of blue. The beauty of the weaver's village lingers on this wrap. The pretty tassels would hold the wrap in place on the blusteriest of days. Wrap it around your shoulders and indulge in the luxurious warmth of this incredible piece.
