Making Hand Block Printed, Hand Painted (Warli)
Description
The central motif of Warli art revolves around scenes of the day-to-day life of the village folk, including hunting, fishing, farming, animals, trees, and harvest festivals. It symbolizes the balance of the universe.
One of the most striking features of Warli art is the tarpa dance. The tarpa is a trumpet-like instrument, played in turns by the villagers. Men and women hold hands and form a circle to dance to the tune of the tarpa. The circle is said to represent the circle of life. All the beauty of a rustic village has been exquisitely captured on handwoven silk. The motifs have been hand-painted and embroidered in earthy hues. The tribal art has traveled all the way from remote parts of India, to weave its magic on this handmade silk stole. The piece can also be wrapped around the face to protect and up your style quotient. It is a must-have in your wardrobe.
