A Persian Garden - Multicolored Floral Embroidered Woolen Shawl
Sold Out
A fabulously embroidered pure wool shawl, it has been crafted as per a written code and speaks the language of flowers. There was a sudden rise in floral embroidery after emperor Jahangir's visit to the valley in 1620.
It took about four years for the piece to attain its fullest glory. The pattern on this heirloom piece comprises of 'speckled wing' blossoms, delicate peonies, lush roses, blooming wisteria and orchids, surrounded by exquisite vines and tiny flowers spread all over the piece. Each flowered end of the shawl is filled with sprays of spring blossoms. Wearing it would be like entering an exotic garden awash with the familiar sights and fragrances of springtime.
